
In a call to support the growing bilateral trade ties between Dubai Airport Freezone and the Italian business community, Italian Consul General of Dubai and Northern Emirates and the Economic Attache' paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Mohamed Al Zarooni, Director General of Dubai Airport Freezone.
Commenting on the thriving Italian business presence in the UAE, Luciano Galli, the Italian Consul General said: "Italian businesses are doing exceptionally well in the region, especially in sectors like steel and iron industry, ship-building, textiles, plastic products, jewelry and chemicals among others. We are pleased to have Dubai Airport Freezone as a key partner to provide the infrastructures and support for us to succeed."
With more than 32 Italian companies including Agusta Aerospace Services, Ferrari and Maserati operating out of Dubai Airport Freezone, Italy is among the top 10 countries with a significant presence in the free zone. In addition, European companies make up 37% of total companies operating in Dubai Airport Freezone.
"Dubai Airport Freezone continues to see keen interest from Italy and across Europe as more companies look to set up operational hub in this region. Apart from our proximity to one of the busiest airports in the world, other points of attraction for us include our flexible start-up support services and UAE investment-friendly laws," said Dr. Mohammed Zarooni, Director General, Dubai Airport Freezone.
Mr. Gali pledged to encourage Italian companies to strengthen commercial alliances with Emirati investors in order to maximize the growing economic opportunities offered by the UAE.
