
- In a growing confidence on the stability of Dubai and the UAE economy, all the 1,500 multinational and local companies based at the Dubai Airport Freezone have renewed their tenancy agreements.
This was announced by Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Director General of the Freezone while speaking to the Press during the inauguration of Heinz office at the Dubai Airport Freezone.
"This is a result of hard work and the good service we provide to our tenants and the continued improvement in customer service and infrastructure," said Dr. Zarooni. "Most of the companies at the Dubai Airport Freezone are strong financially and stable. These are the kinds of companies that we have at the Freezone who will be able to weather a crisis. Heinz is a worldwide recognised brand that will join our long list of top multinational companies at the Freezone."
Mr. Ajay Suri, Managing Director of Heinz Africa and Middle East FZE, said "We have grown many folds since we started operations in Dubai in 1998. Our operation is very profitable especially in the last three years."
Asked about his company's plans for the Middle East, Mr. Suri added "Heinz will be pursuing aggressive growth in Africa and the Middle East."
He expressed satisfaction at the high quality of service at the Freezone and the good infrastructure. He said the decision to be based in Dubai Airport Freezone is its central location. "We used to be in Jebel Ali Freezone which also offers good service, but the central location of this office will prove to be beneficial for our 40 employees most of whom are staying in central Dubai and Sharjah."
Commenting on the entry of Heinz at the Freezone, Mr. Nasser Al Madani, Assistant Director of Dubai Airport Freezone said "We will provide full support to Heinz's operation here to help them attain their objectives."
Dr. Al Zarooni and Mr. Madani later presented mementoes to visiting officials of Heinz Global office Mr. Bill Johanson, Chairman and CEO, Mr. Mike Milone, Senior Vice President, Mr. Steve Clarke, Global HR Head and Mr. Suri.
