Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Director General
Dr Zarooni was appointed Director General of the Dubai Airport Freezone in 2000 and CEO of Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) in 2002 and Vice chairman of DSO on 2005. In 1995 he joined the Department of Civil Aviation as Director of Administration & Research.
Dr Zarooni was a key figure in establishing the Free Zone Division. Previously, Dr Zarooni served at the Ministry of Education for 8 years. In 1994 he received a PHD in Economic Geography from Durham University in the U.K. after writing a thesis in "The Place of Free Trade Zone in Economic Development".
In 1986 he received his BA degree from Emirates University and an MBA in Economic Geography in 1989.
Dr Zarooni is a sought after public speaker at summits and conferences around the world. He is also a writer.
Nasser Al Madani, Assistant Director General
Nasser Al Madani is the Assistant Director General at Dubai Airport Freezone since November 2007. Educated in the United Kingdom Nasser brings with him, in addition to his HR expertise, extensive experience in promoting and operating free zones.
Nasser has been involved in the free zone and port businesses for over 18 years. His portfolio includes working as head of the Human Resources in DP World for over a decade, where he introduced many ground breaking initiatives and has been involved in many mega projects including several mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, he headed the Administration of Jebel Ali Free Zone for several years.
As a senior member of the management team he has been actively involved in setting and implementing several strategic initiatives.
Nasser is a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds a PMD qualification from Harvard Business School. He is also a member of several HR forums and associations and has attended several executive and leadership development programs. He regularly speaks on topics of HR and strategy.
Adel Ghafan Saeed, Executive Director of Engineering
Adel Ghafan Saeed is the Executive Director of Engineeringe at Dubai Airport Freezone. After graduating in Engineering in 1989, Adel Ghafan Saeed became an architect at Dubai Municipality. Here, he was responsible for issuing planning and land regulations as well checking engineering drawings submitted for licensing to the Buildings and Housing Department.
In 1995, he became Head of the Execution Planning Section. This involved overseeing planning regulations, licensing building usage, the distribution and compensation of mixed-use plots and approving to install services in government properties.
In July 2000, he joined Dubai Airport Freezone as Director of the Engineering Department, where he was in charge of supervising and maintaining the Freezone buildings, until 2007, when he was appointed as Executive Director of the Technical Department.
Amna Lootah, Executive Director of Finance, leasing and customer Operations
Amna Lootah, as Executive Director of Finance, leasing and customer Operations at Dubai Airport Free Zone, leads the Finance, Lease & Licensing and Commercial Operations Departments. Since 2001, she has held successive leadership positions in Finance, Accounting, and Commercial Operations at the Dubai Airport Free Zone. Prior to this she has had three years of experience in Banking Industry in managerial positions. She holds a Higher Diploma in Banking and Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Dubai Women's College. She is a graduate of the Dubai Government Leaders Program.
Mohammed Al Hashimi, Executive Director of Corporate Services
Mohammed Al Hashimi is the Executive Director of Corporate Services. He was the key contributor of the SAP implementation project in Dubai Aluminum Company (DUBAL) and spent almost two decades in various departments related to the development of ICT. He also headed the Information Security & Technical Services in the same organization.
Al Hashimi was appointed as the Executive Director of Corporate Services Department at Dubai Airport Freezone in 2008. He earned a Bachelor of Science - Computer Engineering from University of Southampton, UK 1986-89 and honed to be leader attended the Young Manager Program, INSEAD and Fontainebleau, France. He also attended a Diploma in Electronic Engineering & Computer Technologies from 1985-1986. Al Hashimi has a passion for painting and travels.
Yousuf Behzad, Executive Director of Human Capital & Strategy
Yousuf Behzad is the Executive Director of Human Capital & Strategy. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science & Economics (UAE University, 1984) and a Master's Degree in Planning (Leeds University UK, 1997). He has 17 years of experience in planning and management. He has also graduated from Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid for Future Leaders' Preparation.
