DHL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZA) with the aim of boosting operational performance for both companies through exchanging vital information and best practice.
The MoU was signed by Frank-Uwe Ungerer, country manager for DHL Express in the UAE, and Nasser Al Madani, assistant director general of DAFZA during a meeting held this week at DAFZA's headquarters.
"As a leader in the region's logistics industry, we place a strong emphasis on best practice and we are excited to share our expertise with DAFZA," said Ungerer. "Our partnership is part of our ongoing commitment to developing our business and the business community around us, ensuring Dubai continues to be seen as a prime destination for trade between the East and West."
Al Madani added: "DAFZA shares many of the same core principles as DHL when it comes to continued employee and organisational development. By cementing our partnership with DHL we will be able to further develop important aspects of our business; we look forward to a prosperous partnership."
No strangers to best practice, both companies have achieved numerous awards and accreditations from various organisations. Most recently DHL was named Best Employer' in the Middle East and North Africa for 2014 by Aon Hewitt and, DHL Express UAE was named the top company to work for in the UAE by Great Place to Work.
DAFZA was recently awarded the Dubai Quality Award (DQA) in addition to being awarded the title of the top Middle East Free Zone of the future 2013/14 by the Foreign Direct Investment (fDi) Magazine biannual Ranking.
