DAFZA announces upcoming Corporate Wellness Program to boost employee comfort and happiness

​Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA) has announced that it will be launching its Corporate Wellness Program in mid February as part of its efforts to enhance the fitness, happiness and satisfaction of its employees. The move falls in line with the freezone's full commitment to supporting the Dubai Government's vision of a happy, healthy and safe society.

 

The wellness initiative debuting this month follows the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minster of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to ensure 'happiness for all people.' It also reflects DAFZA's belief that its people are its most valuable asset and that their welfare directly impacts the freezone's pursuit of excellence. The comprehensive program will be based on a proven international wellness system that focuses on both prevention and engagement. It will include wellness screenings, health surveys, lifestyle management strategies, targeted benefit plan designs, and incentives and awards.

 

Employees will be educated on preventive measures against health risks and positive lifestyle behaviours they should adopt inside and outside of the workplace. Ultimately, the program will add 'wellness' to DAFZA's corporate values and lead to happier employees who in turn will influence the happiness  of clients and investors.

 

As part of its commitment to achieve the objectives of the new program and ensure employee wellness and fitness, DAFZA has also held a cycling event in celebration of the UAE's National Environment Day. The activity received a huge positive response from employees and clients, with DAFZA's management teaming up with an estimated 500 participants to advocate the superb health and environmental benefits of cycling and encouraging employees to participate by providing them with bicycles. The Dubai Handicap cycling team also attended the event to add a richer social dimension and emphasize how all members of society can help protect the environment.

 

The freezone also participated today (Wednesday, February 4, 2015) in the Dubai Municipality's annual 'Car-Free Day' as part of 'UAE National Environment Day' activities. DAFZA highlighted its exceptional commitment to environmental responsibility by encouraging its management, employees and partners to either use public transportation or car-pool in groups of as many as five people to travel to their workplace.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum in 2014, DAFZA will soon introduce a Corporate Wellness Program that will raise the spirits of our employees and enhance the quality of their health. This unique program will incorporate the best international practices to achieve maximum results."
